Volkswagen Golf: Range update
After only a year and a half, Volkswagen rearranges the range of the Golf VI . If the level of standard equipment progresses, tariffs too.
The Golf will now be organized around five trim levels: Trendline, Confortline, Carat, GTI and GTD .
Ahead of future regulations that will make it mandatory on all models from 2011, Volkswagen already offers the ESP as standard across the range Golf.
On the Golf Trendline , customers earn series touches of leather, RCD 210 radio with 4 speakers and steering wheel 3-spoke. To 16 390 euros TTC offers a customer saving of approximately 620 euros.
Version Confortline adds to its standard equipment for 16-inch alloy wheels instead of hubcaps and the parking sensors front and rear. Its fares now start at 20,850 euros VAT which represents a decrease of 50 euros for a average customer benefit of 1200 euros.
Volkswagen removing options “Carat Edition” is the Golf Carat , which now represents the high end models “normal”. To celebrate this newly acquired status, it is adorned with 17-inch alloy wheels and Bluetooth connectivity wins in series. Price: 23 050 euros or 1020 euros for customer advantage.
For versions muscular GTI and GTD , Volkswagen adds bi-xenon directional, glass rear privacy glass and bluetooth to the basic grant. If the bill gets heavier than 1000 euros, the respective rates of 29 120 euros and 29,860 euros represents an advantage of 1 710 euros.
The Golf R finally wins tinted rear glass and bluetooth without change fee (36 310 euros TTC).
Also note the arrival of a newcomer to the range with block BlueMotion 2.0 TDI CR 140 FAP 6-speed manual gearbox. Equipped systems start-stop and regenerative braking, it displays reduced CO2 emissions to 114 g / km. Its rates start at 25,390 euros including VAT and is eligible for an environmental bonus of 500 euros.
The purchase of my Golf 6 GTI is the result of finding a compact but comfortable vitamin.
March 2009 Geneva Motor Show, it was love at first sight. I am not at all pro VW, the “myth GTI” for me is long dead, and I find the models Golf “modern” unattractive. But there it stands in the middle of the stand VW and I cracked. The lines of the Golf 6, strongly identified are just banal “it right” with appendices few “sports”.
Six months later I am owner. A model 3p red (to meet the look), and manual gearbox. This choice is explained by the increased costs of DSG, a preference for manual driving, but mainly to keep the chili. The TSI is beautiful (very) linear and self very well soundproofed, I find that even sanitizes the DSG auto.
My balance a year later.
I would say that the Mk6 Golf GTI is not the descendant of the legendary Golf GTI Mk1. Certainly, as then the concept of a compact versatile, powerful (compared to the rest of the fleet) and Watts is preserved. That said it is a heavy car to feel sanitized … and any more dangerous.
But today what is expected by the owners of GTI? Comfortable with a compact watts …. not a type bombinette Focus RS or (less powerful) Civic Type-R.
And we can not blame it on the GTI. There is no lie VW on its product, and ultimately “there’s something for his money” Really comfortable (suspensions, seats, insulation) for a compact, safe and easy to learn, although meeting A very correct consumption in everyday driving, efficient equipment available, etc..
That said, I do not have fun with. Oh, frankly for the performance is more than enough with cameras everywhere. Moreover (and this hurts the bottom) the engine is far too over-sized (in terms of power) relative to the frame. Because that is where the bottom really hurts: a very pronounced understeer, ESP castrating of a double rear unflappable brakes with single piston speeds outdated and frankly a lack of directional leadership.
For now I had one major concern namely the platelets changed after 5’000km (lots of road salt). Some wind noise should also be noted.
In the end, if it over again today, I would do the same choice, however, that versatility.
Since we talk about you every day, you should know thatCaradisiac past few months provides an opportunity for readers to give their opinion on their vehicle. So after a quick registration, you can share with the whole community of fans who come daily to learn about the automotive world and its novelty, the experience with your own car. Thus, we decided to draw every day in the notices posted on the site a testimonial. Randomly, or almost.
Thus, after savilleRW and Bentley Continental GT , we give you to read today’s testimony tartiflette_power who talks about hisVolkswagen Golf 6 GTI 2.0 T 210. A GTI which he said was more the spirit of the first generation, but which fits with the times, namely that of GT and more comfortable bourgeois. No big worries to mourn for him, and a final score of 13.8 / 20.
And you what do you think?
Do not hesitate if you want to make your own opinion , as long as you’re also owns this model, or comment on this article. The Golf GTI she deserves more or less than the 13.8 rating / 20 allocated by our déposeur mind?
Quick reminder : we’re not here to dwell on the form of testimony but on its merits. Very well or rather poorly written, it has value in all cases represent the opinion of an owner who had the courage to engage.
Golf. Nothing less than an icon. A car that has moved millions of people (over 25 million actually) since its launch in 1974.Today is the sixth generation takes over. Launched in October 2008 on the market, it now comes slowly on the second hand market, where some hope to find the right price. Not necessarily win when you know the star status that his ancestors had acquired a status that implies high ratings. That’s what Caradisiac wanted to check. While the Golf VI (6): a good deal or a star already pretentious?
